My baby is 1!

How did this happen?

This year has really gone by so fast.

Kami Britton Karren has been such a blessing in our home. She is the happiest little girl you will ever meet.

She:

-started sleeping through the night at 2 months and has done so ever since

-started crawling at 5 1/2 months and has never looked back.

- Walked at 10 1/2 months and is now almost running

- eats everything you give her, she has been my best eater yet!

- loves animals, baby dolls, and books

- loves to destroy the Tupperware cupboard

- still takes two 2 hr. naps a day

- loves playing with her brothers

- loves hiding in the curtains

- loves playing outside

So needless to say Kami is one busy busy busy little girl.

SO i know it's been awhile but the truth is i'm kinda in a funk and i don't want to take pictures and load them and blog them, i'm kinda enjoying just looking at other peoples blogs. I just know if i don't get my butt into gear i'll regret it.

So i have kinda been sucking at taking pics of my kids lately but someone else in our family has been doing it for me. I found a bunch of random pics, 83 to be exact of the funniest pictures.

We have been super busy this summer and it has gone by so fast. I can't believe the kids go back to school next week. Here is our summer in pictures....

We took the boys to California and left Kami with my mom for the weekend. We went to Lego land for 2 days and the beach, It was so much fun. The boys loved having our attention!!!

Pool Time

We have spent countless hours in our pool this summer, i love having it right in our own backyard. My mom loved it too.

Pool Party

Well the Pool is Finally done! We are so excited to have a pool and to be able to cool off. The kids LOVE it and swim every day, they are getting so good.

Peyton has finished Kindergarten!

I can't believe how much he has matured and grown this year. He is such a good kid.

Peyton has learned so much from kindergarten he has taught all of us new things. He loves math and reading, and he is really good at both. But Computers and PE are his favorite specials.

I left Brett with the kids one night and came home to him and Kami passed out on the couch.

She is a busy girl she is crawling every where, walking along furniture and loves to hold your hands and walk around. Yes she is only 7 months.

She has stared eating some solids and is loving everything. Except maybe peas.

I can't believe this little girl is 5 months old already.

She is:

-still sleeping awesome 8pm-6:30am and then back down for an hour or so

- rolling every where and will be crawling soon, she inches her way

- the HAPPIEST babe around, she smiles and talks to everyone

- still in 3-6 months clothes

- drinking 6-8oz. at a time, solids are coming soon

Peyton is the happiest, friendliest 6 year old boy you will meet. He loves playing with his brother and his friends. He likes playing soccer, riding his bike, xbox, reading and going to school.

He asks me at least once a week if he can go to Canada, he loves visiting his Grandma's and Grandpa's.

Christmas Part 2

In Whitefish!

We headed down to the cabin to celebrate New Years with my dad and all the kids (minus Brent and Lindsey). We had fun skiing, eating yummy food, playing games and bringing in the New Year by watching all 3 Toy Stories. I know we are crazy like that.

The boys and Cassie learned how to ski this year, they braved the freezing cold weather and took lessons one morning. They did so awesome. Maybe next year it will be warmer and they can ski more than once.

Your never too young to learn how to play games in our family.

Christmas in Canada Part 1

The morning after we arrived in Canada my kids wanted to go right outside and play in the snow, so off they went. I think they played outside almost everyday. I on the other hand decided to stay inside with Kami and Caymbree.

We had so much fun being with family during the holidays. The kids loved playing with their cousins and being around the aunts and uncles.

Christmas Eve day was spent at Grandma Sefcik's house making gingerbread houses, playing the 7/11 game and eating soup and sandwiches for lunch.

Christmas eve and day we were at Grandpa and Grandma Karren's house. We ate lots of yummy food and had a "Glee" version of the nativity- with Brett and i as Mary and Joseph. Next year it's Jodi and Scott's turn!!!! And we were entertained just watching Taylor, she is so fun.

Kami girl has been a dream baby, all she does is sleep and eat. Everyone at our home loves this little girl and can't get enough of her.

Kami was supposed to be born on Oct. 11th but the hospital switched her c-section date to the 18th (which was a week of torture for me) But now all my kids have their birthdays on the 18th of their months. Now we will have to do extra careful planning on any future children so they too will have 18th b-days.

More pictures to come, my computer is being weird and not letting me upload all the pics onto blogger. Hopefully this problem gets resolved because i have some really cute pictures to share.

Does anyone know a secret to get this baby out NOW???

I am so done being pregnant, especially in Arizona where it is still 106 degrees out. I can't wait for Fall to come.
Since i have to wait a little longer i've been doing lots of baby projects and LOTS of online shopping. I don't know how people decide what to buy their girls, i need one of everything.

Here are a few of the things i've been up too as of late. My mom has asked me several times to put these pictures up so here you go mother.
This was my bassinet when i was a baby, so my mom sent it down for me to use with my little girl. I sprayed painted it and made a skirt to dress it up a bit.

And of course i made a few more blankets, just because every baby needs a bajillion blankets!

I used this idea here for this blanket.

And i received a gift in the mail from my Sister and Dad...thanks guys I LOVE IT!!!

Brody starts Pre-School

This kid could not wait for pre-school to start.
He would ask everyday if it was time to go yet, and now that it has started he wants to go everyday. So to say that he LOVES pre-school may be an understatement. He knows almost everybody's name already in his class and has memorized the snack chart so he knows who's turn it is. He adores his teacher Mrs.Nicole and can tell you every toy she has in her pre-school.

The first day was show and tell so Brody came down wearing his back pack with his owl aka"Star Wars" strapped to the back. This kid thinks of the funniest things to do.

Brody has also started tumbling class 1 day a week. Brett said it was ok that i put him in as long as we called it "tumbling" and not "gymnastics." Brody doesn't care what we call it he can't wait to go back every week. He has lots of his friends in his class which makes it even more fun for him.

Here he is already to go.
The first day he went he noticed that the girls were wearing one piece tight outfits and he says "mom what do i get to wear?" I had to explain to him that boys get to wear cool basketball shorts and t-shirts. He seems content with that thank goodness.

Here is Peyton all ready to go to his friend Makenzie's birthday party. He was the only boy and loved every minute of it. I love that he doesn't care about those kinds of things yet. And i can't believe he his old enough to go to birthday parties by himself. It is so weird watching him grow up so fast.

This little dude started Kindergarten today, i can't believe he is old enough. He woke up bright and early because he was so excited!!! I am so excited for him too but hate that i can't be there just in case he needs me....yes that is the control freak in me coming out. I hope he makes lots of new friends and loves every minute of it.

We love when Grandma comes to town and hate when she leaves. The boys are already missing her and can't wait for to her to come back when the baby is born.
It's hard to get pics with my kids so were are a few that we happened to snap while they were running through.

In all her GLORY...at 28 weeks and 5 days!

This little girl is finally growing!
After having a little scare with her measuring small and having a marker for down syndrome she is in the clear. All the tests have come back Negative for Downs and any other tests they could think of to run on me. And she is only measuring a few days behind instead of a few weeks, which you can tell by the size of my belly these days. I'm so grateful to be carrying a healthy baby and can't wait to meet her. I hope she's ready for her crazy brothers to love on her and teach her lots of bad things!!!

This summer has gone by so fast and without any documentation at our house. It doesn't help that i lost my battery charger for my camera and had 2 dead batteries until i found it under our bed this week.

We have been trying to keep cool in the 110+ weather we have been having. For July 4th we rented a bounce/water house slide. It was a blast the kids played on it for 5 hours straight and then again the next day. So worth it.

We also play out in the sprinkler to keep cool, hopefully next year we will have a pool.

And my mom has been here this month helping me with "BABY PROJECTS"! I'm so glad she came and took charge cause they still wouldn't have been done.

This is one of my favorites so far, "The vintage baby quilt"

Oh and i painted and distressed this old antique dresser for the babes room. I love it.

And we made the bedding too. And when when i say "WE" i mean i picked it all out and told my mom what i wanted....and VOILA! I did help...a little.

This past month the boys and i flew up to Canada to visit family. They love going and spending time with their cousins and hanging out with Grandma's and Grandpa's.

Peyton was able to go to school with his cousin Madi, they had a lady come teach then about Dinosaurs. He loved it.

And let me tell you a little about the weather while we were home...besides it snowing the first weekend we were there it RAINED and RAINED and RAINED. The kids loved sitting on my mom's deck to watch the rain storms.

I got to see my girls from high school and eat some yummy Japanese food with them.

Brody insisted on using my moms decorative mixing bowl for his cereal...???

Brody and Peyton found a giant chocolate bar that my mom bought Carly for her birthday! So needless to say we ran out to the store to get her another one.

We had a little get together for her and when i say little i mean there were more kiddos there then adults i think.

She asked for snickers cheesecake so i whipped this puppy up for her. We also enjoyed french toast and homemade buttermilk syrup for dinner.... mmmmm my kind of dinner!

I love going to Montana in the summer, it's beautiful and relaxing and my kids love it too. Besides staying inside the cabin or mall on the rainy days we did get out a little. Here are some pics of what we did.

Peyton Brady Karren class of 2010!

Yep Peyton has graduated from pre-school and is moving up in this world and on to Kindergarten! I can't believe it.

Peyton has matured so much this year and has become a sweet, kind, caring 5 year old BOY!
He cares about others feelings and doesn't want to leave anybody out. He try's to do what is right and make good choices everyday. He has a passion for learning, he is always finding ways to learn above and beyond what is required of him. He has started reading and loves to sound out every word he see's or hears. Sometimes this can be annoying when your trying to talk to him and he interrupts you with "MOM you just said a word that begins with B" !!! He asks me everyday how to spell random words.
I love all of these things about Peyton. He makes our home a happy fun place to be. Thanks dude for being you.

DO you remember these from elementary? I totally do, they were my favorite.

Peyton even married his friend Katie at pre-school!!! The kids dressed up and had a wedding for the letters "Q" and "U". Seriously isn't his teacher so creative?

I helped in Peyton's class one day and taught the kids how to keep their teeth clean.

Yep i'm creeping closer and closer to thirty and i'm starting to feel it too.
My birthday was great, i went for lunch with Brett and then out for dinner with my girlies!
We laughed so hard that my cheeks and throat still hurt the next morning.

My friend Ashley had asked me a week or so ago what i wanted for my birthday and i told her that i wanted Brett to get my a "huge ass" cake so i can eat a piece everyday of the week. Well she took it literally and made me my very own butt cake. We laughed so hard.

Isn't this cake amazing? If you look really close you can see the fringes of the jean shorts. I still haven't cut into it because i don't want to wreck this master piece.

We went to Dustin and Nicole's house for an Easter lunch and Easter egg hunt the Friday before Easter. It was so much fun, thanks guys.

Well since i don't have my girl i thought i would dress the boys up for Easter Sunday in some PINK! Brody wasn't too sure about it at first but then warmed up to the idea and let me put him in my favorite color.

And Peyton is riding his bike with NO TRAINING WHEELS! I am so proud of this dude, he just got right on and took off. I didn't even have to teach him or hold the back for him. He's pretty much a pro at bike riding these days.

One Funny Story

I have to write this down before i forget it.

This morning Brody woke up and as i was cuddling him on the couch, he noticed i was wearing a shirt with people running on it (gotta love race shirts). He asked who the people were so i was telling him everyone in our family. After i said his name he said
"Wow i'm big"
(I said) "Yes you are"
Brody then says " Ya because i can climb walls and towers"
(me) "You can climb towers?"
(Brody) "No not towers, just small buildings!"

I love this 3 year old, he seriously say's things like this all the time. He makes me laugh so hard.

California was AWESOME!
My dad took all of us kids and our spouses, we hit up Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland, the beach and some did sea world and universal studios. We were able to go on all the good rides since we didn't have our kiddos with us. We ate way too much food, lots of Mexican food and donuts. My dad found this bakery down the road and would go get us breakfast every morning. I don't recommend this...my thighs are hating my now.

The first night we got into LAX we went through a drive through and this sign was on the window...yuck! If i ever get cancer i'm blaming this place.

My cute cousin Taylor was in Newport the same weekend we got in so we got to spend the day with her......we love you Tay.

2009 Christmas Happenings....

Peyton asked for a teddy bear for Christmas because when it was teddy bear day at school and he showed up with his stuffed frog he was the only one with out a teddy bear. He came home really upset....and if you know me i don't like a lot of stuffed animals around so i gave in and got Peyton a bear....which by the way make 3 stuffed animals in our house!

We took the kids to see Santa....and they talked his ear off asking for everything they have seen on commercials. Which they didn't get any of.

And the after Christmas i convinced my mom, sister and 2 little nieces to come down for a few days.

We headed north to Provo Utah for Thanksgiving this year. We spent it with the Sefcik's and had a good time visiting with everyone. Brett and i (with kids) stayed at my cousin Jen and Rod's house, the kids had a blast and loved that they had friends right there when they woke up.
While we were there my cousin Julie took some family photo's for us, she is amazing and so talented behind the camera. Thank Ju.
We hope we can make it back up there next thanksgiving or hopefully sooner. Love ya guys!

Carnival Birthday Party!!!

Finally i have found some time to blog again!
This year i decided to combine Peyton and Brody's birthday party's, there is a 3 month gap between them but i figured it was close enough to get away with it. And i'm so glad i did, as it was a lot of work!!!
We rented a bounce house, snow cone machine and a spin art machine. We set everything up out in the back yard and let the kids loose.

I got the cupcake idea off of picky palate, they turned out way cute and were so easy!

I attempted to make a ball toss.

Here the kids are testing out the spin art machine, i would have never thought to rent this but a friend told me about it and the kids really liked it. I would definitely get it again.

OK these body boppers were so fun, it was pretty funny to watch the kids play with them. And surprisingly no injuries.

Brody Carson Karren!!

This little 3 year old makes me laugh everyday. I can't believe how witty and smart he is at such a young age. He remembers everything he hears and everyone he meets. Brody is very independent and doesn't like help with anything. He can usually figure most things out by himself. He may be a smarty but also loves to call everyone and their dog a poo-poo head and stupid, and that's just if he likes you!

Pregnant?

NO i am not pregnant!!!
But it seems like everyone around me is or has just had a baby. I'm kinda feeling out of the loop on this but i don't think our time has come to dive into baby #3. I really want another one or two but i'm not sure if i can handle being out numbered. And there is always that 50/50 chance it's going to be another boy....!

If you have 3 or more kiddos tell me the pros and cons. Not that i need convincing but it's always good to know the other side before you make the leap.

Peyton's pre-school had a Halloween party and performed a few songs for the parents. It was so cute. Then they went trick or treating to a few of the neighbors homes and showed off their costumes. Brody got right into too, he is ready to be a big kid like his brother.

We had my dad and Becky come and visit last month. Becky brought baby Caymbree with her and we all loved to play, snuggle and hold her.

My dad-he is one of our favorite guests to have around.

My sister Becky- yes she is going to KILL me for putting up this picture. She was in the middle of telling me "NO, don't take my picture." But that's too bad because i didn't get very many pics of her this trip.

So then we took this one. This was the morning her and Caymbree where leaving...sad day!

If you want to get a lot of comments and emails just go private! If your wondering why i went private it's for the obvious reasons. I decided i didn't like strangers knowing everything about me and my family and looking at pictures of my kids. I'm just trying to keep them safe.
So now that we cleared the air let's get to some new pictures.

Peyton's pre-school had a field trip to the pet store, it was so fun! Peyton and Brody were talking about it for days before we went and they had convinced themselves that they were getting a puppy or a kitty, they didn't care which one they just wanted one. So being the mom that..(cough cough) gives into her kids way too often, i felt so bad telling them that there was no way in my lifetime that they would be getting a cat or a dog.
This is kinda how the conversation went:

P&B: "mom are we getting a puppy or a kitty at the pet shop today" (yes they call it a pet shop)
M: "Sorry guys we aren't getting either, mommy doesn't like pets in her house"
Brody: "do you still hate puppies mom?" (this isn' the first time they have asked me this)
M: "Well i don't hate puppies, i just don't like them"
P: "well maybe we can get a fish or a frog, which one mom?"
M: "ummmm.... neither those are still pets!"

So yes i'm that cruel mom that HATES puppies, but no worries i like them if their at other peoples houses.

Like really aren't these just mice with different names? I would NEVER get one. We had some growing up and i remember i tried holding it one time but i got too scared and dropped the little thing and broke his hip. I never been that into animals.

A few weeks ago i decided to fly home (Canada) for the weekend to surprise my sister. She was having a little birthday party for her 3 year old that weekend, and it was my dads birthday too so we went out and celebrated. I had NO KIDS with me so i got to do everything i wanted. I went for my morning runs, ate out at all my favorite restaurants, bought $60 worth of Canadian candy (which i've made a pretty good dent in) and of course go to my favorite store (superstore). It was a quick but super fun weekend.

I followed this tutorial here at hopestudios to make my tees. They were so easy to do, anyone with a needle and thread can do it. If you make any let me know.
When i do my next one i'll make alittle tutorial with a few tips and secrets that i found to make it easier.
And all you need to make this is 2 tees the same color, oldnavy had there basic tee on sale for $3 on the weekend so i stocked up. But targets or walmarts tees would work.

The purple one has been through the wash and dryer (thanks to Brett, who i can't be mad at because i think it looks cuter and it still fits!) But the most important thing is it's still together. I wasn't sure how well the flowers would stay on.

And these girls over here from enchantresses 3 made their own tutorial to make the above tee found at jcrew. I'm going to try the heart tutorial next. I have a vneck tee waiting to have something sewn on it.

This would also be cute! I'm definitely going to be experimenting with all my plain shirts now.

I don't know about you but i'm so into ruffles these days i think i'm going to try to make one of these, the cardi would be so cute. I found this tutorial here to help me.

YAY, we love when Grandma comes to town. I've kept her busy helping me paint my laundry room, Peyton's room and organizing my house. Pictures to come of the finished products!

We have been keeping very busy these days playing with friends, swimming, getting our house organized and getting ready for pre-school to start next week. The weather has been SUPER HOT but that doesn't stop us. My kids still ask to play out in the back yard everyday...crazy kids. We have sure had a great summer and don't want it to end. Time flys when your having FUN!!!

This story is proof my kids are growing up....

One morning i came home from a run to find Peyton and Brody making toast all by themselves. They got out the bread, the toaster and the butter (which was way back in the fridge).
Peyton yells to me as i walk in the door "mom we're in here just making toast by are selveses" (apparently this is a word)
I say " where is daddy"
Peyton replys "upstairs, sleeping"
Go figure. They could have burnt the house down and Brett would of had no clue.
I come into the kitchen and they sure did make toast all by themselves, and they buttered it too.
AT least i know they won't starve if i'm not around.

The boys and i have been gone up to Canada, Montana and Utah for the past 7 weeks. It was a super fun trip and we can't wait to go back.
We got to see so many people and the kids LOVED playing with their cousins everyday.

This baby girl is the main reason i went home for so long.

This is Miss. Cassie Grace, she is the wild girl in the family. Once she warms up to you watch out, she has the highest squeal and cutest laugh. But if Grandma's around good luck getting any attention from her.

Brody pretty much tortured my moms cat the entire summer, i know that cat is so glad we are gone.

Peyton learned how to throw a ball for Alli, (Scott and Jodi's dog) and now he asks for a dog almost everyday. Thanks Scott!

We had a family reunion at Bear Lake, Utah.
We stayed in this amazing house that had 18 bedrooms, a swimming pool, hot tub, park, volley ball court, and so much more. I'm voting we do it there next time too. My Uncle Kris brought these fun blow up slides, castle and obsticle course. The kids played on them all day long.

We have been waiting along time to buy our first house and we finally found the perfect one.
It is WAY bigger than Brett wanted, and came with a few extras that helped seal the deal.
5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a family room, formal living room, dining room, and a loft. Now only if it came with furniture and a maid!

MOVING, ANNIVERSARY AND BIRTHDAY!

Stress.... this is what happens when too many things happen in the same week!

Brett and i just bought our first home (that's another post) and we moved into it April 24/25. Then the painters got their dates messed up and couldn't paint until we were already moved in, so i had to keep my kiddos away from the paint! So not fun when you have 2 active, curious little boys. I have to say they did pretty good though and only got paint on their feet once, each!

So to keep myself sain, i bought this piece of cake from target. They had samples and it was so yummy i caved. My kids and i enjoyed the entire thing.

Then we had our Anniversary 2 days after we moved into the new house. Yep seven years, oh how time flies! Well we didn't get to do much because I had my last cake decorating class the same night so we enjoyed even more cake when i got home.

Then my birthday was 2 days later! (I don't recommend any of this, just some advice, plan your wedding and move around no other events!)
Brett's parents were in town and watched our kids that night so Brett and i could go for dinner. It was sure nice to have a break from my kids, that was a great gift!

Then i got to enjoy lunch with these girls the following day! It was great food and great company!

Then Brett's parents had a dinner at Vince and Shannon's AZ home and we celebrated yet again. The kids had so much fun together as they always do. Avery was the little leader and they followed her around all night....so cute.

Brett's mom and aunt made me the CAKE i requested (since Brett had no clue) and it was sure yummy. They did run out of frosting but it didn't matter it was so scrumptious any way! Thank you so much.....

So at the end of the week i would have to say i ended up forgetting about all the stress and chaos and enjoyed myself. All the cake eating might of had a little something to do with it....mmm it was so worth it.
